# Quote Verification Record

Confirm quotation wording, speaker identity, attribution, context, consent, source location, edits, approval terms, and any material conflict or limitation.

## Usage note

Create one record for each direct quotation, including material from interviews, speeches, documents, recordings, and messages. Follow applicable recording rules, consent agreements, editorial policy, and source-protection practices. Do not expose confidential contact details or source identities in an inappropriately shared worksheet, and do not treat quotation approval as permission to publish unrelated private information.

## How to use this template

1. Assign a quote ID and confirm the speaker, role, affiliation, consent, and attribution agreement.
2. Locate the exact original passage and preserve sufficient surrounding context.
3. Compare draft wording, ellipses, brackets, translation, and edits against the original meaning.
4. Complete promised quotation review and document requests plus editorial decisions.
5. Check every reuse of the quotation and obtain final fact-check approval.
