Editorial Policy & Standards
These standards govern every guide, comparison, help article, and policy page published by GPTHuman. They are intended to keep our content accurate, useful, transparent, and independent of advertising decisions.
Purpose and Editorial Independence
We publish practical guidance about AI-assisted writing, editing, readability, product limitations, and responsible review. Each page should answer a genuine reader need and distinguish evidence from opinion or marketing language.
Editorial conclusions and corrections are controlled by the editorial team. Advertisers, partners, affiliate arrangements, and product-conversion goals do not receive approval rights over our findings.
Topic Selection
We select topics that answer a real question, explain a product capability or limitation, document a repeatable workflow, compare meaningful alternatives, or clarify a policy issue. We do not create doorway pages, mass-produced keyword variants, or articles whose only purpose is to display ads.
Research, Sources, and Fact-Checking
Writers should prefer primary sources, official documentation, original product evidence, and clearly attributed expert material. Important technical, legal, medical, financial, or statistical claims require a current source, appropriate context, and careful wording that does not overstate certainty.
Editors verify names, dates, prices, product capabilities, quotations, calculations, and material limitations. An AI response, detector score, search snippet, community post, or marketing claim is not independent proof. We link directly to public supporting sources when available and identify uncertainty when credible evidence conflicts.
Product Tests and Comparisons
When a conclusion relies on our own test, we describe the relevant input, settings, date, and limitations well enough for a reader to understand what was measured. A small sample or single run is not presented as a universal result.
Comparisons use criteria related to the reader's task, such as output quality, controls, limitations, privacy behavior, accessibility, and price. Material relationships with a reviewed product are disclosed.
Human Review Before Publication
Before publication, an editor confirms the reader need, checks material claims against current evidence, and reviews the structure, examples, links, image alternatives, metadata, disclosures, and calls to action.
The same standard applies to AI-assisted drafts and translations. Search optimization does not justify keyword stuffing, deceptive claims, duplicate pages, or content without a clear reader purpose.
AI Assistance
AI may support outlining, phrasing, translation drafts, and quality checks. It is not treated as a factual source or named as a human expert. Editors remain responsible for every published claim. See our AI Disclosure.
Publication Dates and Updates
Articles display their original publication date and, after a material revision, a modified date. We revisit a page when a product, price, workflow, source, policy, link, or significant reader need changes.
The modified date changes only after a meaningful factual, structural, or guidance review, not for cosmetic punctuation. A superseded page may be updated, consolidated, clearly archived, or redirected to its direct successor.
Corrections and Reader Reports
We correct material errors promptly and transparently. Typographical fixes that do not change meaning may be made without a note; a factual correction changes the modified date and includes a concise explanation when the earlier wording could materially mislead.
When a reader reports an issue, an editor reviews the published wording and the current evidence. We correct supported errors, identify genuinely contested evidence as uncertain, and do not force an unsupported definitive conclusion.
Bylines, Expertise, and the Editorial Team
The GPTHuman Editorial Team byline represents collaborative research, product review, editing, and localization. It is an organizational byline, not a fictional person or a claim that one individual holds every relevant credential.
A named specialist who contributes materially should receive clear attribution and a disclosure of relevant qualifications or conflicts. We do not invent biographies, profile images, experience, or credentials.
Advertising, Affiliates, and Conflicts
Advertising is visually separated from editorial content. Paid placement does not control rankings, recommendations, review conclusions, or corrections.
An affiliate relationship, sponsorship, free product access, or other material conflict is disclosed where it could affect a reader's interpretation. Commercial copy is labeled and is not presented as independent editorial analysis.
Localization and Accessibility
Localized pages should preserve the meaning, evidence, limitations, and disclosures of the source. Translation drafts may use AI, but a reviewer must check terminology, links, dates, numbers, and language that could change a claim.
We aim for clear headings, descriptive links, useful alternative text, readable structure, and plain language. Readers can report translation or accessibility problems through the policy contact below.
